IMPACT OF MULTILINGUALISM ON GRADUATE STUDENTS’ PERFORMANCE

Multilingualism is the globally expanded phenomenon encompassing vast varieties of opportunities and performances. Present study is conducted in the context of a Pakistani nation who is multilingual too. The Objective of the study is to understand the significance of multilingualism regarding student’s performance and standardization. Present study is qualitative and partially qualitative too. 30 English Language teachers teaching at graduate level are selected as the sample of study. A questionnaire is used; consisting of 10 questions to explore the perception of the teachers. Analysis of the data is made through SPSS (Version 23). The qualitative portion is described based on the observations and the judgements of different researchers in the discussion part. The results describe that there is significant impact of multilingualism on students’ performance. A multilingual student can perform far better in every walk of life including academic and practical life. It is also concluded in the study that multilingual phenomenon provides vast fields of development so it would be taken as the opportunity in life of every student.
