Abstract

This research was mainly concerned with the role of family life in the social inclusion of children engaged in labour in District Dir Lower. Through purposive sampling method a sample size of 210 respondents, comprising of working children in Auto workshop under the age of 18 years were selected from the study universe comprising seven tehsil’s of district Dir lower. The collected data was interpreted and presented at Uni-variate, Bi-variate levels. Chi-square test was used to draw association between dependent variable (Family Life) and independent variable (Social Inclusion) at Bi-variate. The study found a significant association with the social inclusion of children involved in labour. Similarly, the statements regarding independent variable “Family Life” and dependent variable “Social exclusion” of children involved in labour were also tested through chi-square. Results showed a highly significant (P=0.000) association of satisfaction from family income. Highly significant (P=0.000) association of positive behavior of parents with the family members. Similarly, significant (P=0.000) association of negative behavior of siblings at home, a significant (P=0.000) association of availability of educational facilities. Furthermore, a significant (P=0.000) association of availability of better housing. Likely, a highly significant (P=0.000) association of availability of hygienic food and significant (P=0.001) association of availability of better clothing with social inclusion of children involved in labour.
